Georgia running back Cash Jones made a strong impression at his Pro Day, delivering a well-rounded athletic performance that drew attention from multiple NFL teams. Measuring in at 5-foot-11, 185 pounds, Jones posted a 4.38-second 40-yard dash, along with 20 bench press reps, a 10’4” broad jump, and a 33-inch vertical numbers that reinforce his profile as a speed-driven, versatile offensive weapon.
According to Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com provided information that a large contingency of Pittsburgh’s personnel department where on hand to watch the Georgia Bulldogs Pro Day. The Bulldogs attract these types of audiences due to their massive bounty of elite NFL Draft prospects. However, it was Jones who impressed the most.
According to my own sources, Jones met with the Steelers as well as the Denver Broncos and New England Patriots after his stellar performance amongst some of the top tier talent available for the 2026 NFL Draft. Working at running back, receiver and in the return game, Jones provided the Steelers and the swell of NFL scouting departments with the full arsenal of his skill set.
Jones’ Pro Day came at a critical time in the pre-draft process, where prospects look to validate their athletic traits in front of decision-makers. The importance of performing well in this setting cannot be overstated.
I watched it unfold live in Kent, Ohio during the Kent State Pro Day in which Jameson Konz a jack-of-all-trades prospect blew the doors of the Kent State Field House. Konz ran a 4.38, at 6-foot-3 and 234 pounds, jumping 46 inches on his vertical and a broad jump of 10 feet 8 ¼ inches.
It turned him into a seventh-round pick in 2010 by the Seattle Seahawks. Jones’ performance and the pedigree of playing at Georgia are the type of moments where the teams must head back to their tape and check again on the talents of players like Jones.
Zero doubt in my mind, Konz never sniffs the idea of being drafted until he unleashed those numbers of the pro personnel there that day. He played in the NFL between 2010-15.
With a strong Pro Day performance now on tape and multiple teams showing interest, Cash Jones has positioned himself as a name to watch as the draft approaches. For prospects like Jones, moments like these under the watchful eye of NFL personnel can make all the difference.
Is he the late round slot option sandwiched between DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman?
