Pittsburgh Steelers sign Mount Union standout Jasper Collins

PITTSBURGH – The Steelers signed former Mount Union receiver to Reserve/Future contract. Jasper Collins (5-10, 190, 1) originally signed with the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Mount Union on May 3, 2013. He was waived/injured by Miami on July 31, 2013 and signed to the Cleveland Browns practice squad on September 2, 2013 before being released on September 10, 2013. Collins was signed to the Dolphins’ practice squad on November 19, 2013 and was released on November 26, 2013.
Prior to NFL, Collins was selected Associated Press Little All-America Football Team. Collins finished his senior season with 92 receptions for 1,694 yards and 22 touchdowns. The Little All-America Team honors players from NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and the NAIA. Collins finished his career as a champion with Mount Union and looks to continue that success building towards the NFL Draft. Invited to the East West Shrine game Collins was considered to most as an NFL Combine snub.
