• As a junior, Brooks was a first-team all-district 16-4A selection at safety when he intercepted four passes and had 53 tackles

Brooks was part of a superb defensive unit at North Texas. His six interceptions (tied for 2nd in the with six others), trailed only two players in the FBS who tallied seven picks. The Texas, native was a bit undersized (5-foot-9 and 145-pounds), coming out of Whitehouse High School. It hampered the offers he received but proved in the long run to be way more than capable of becoming a top-notch college corner back.

He possesses fantastic ball skills. His attention to detail and technique are a few of the hallmarks of his impressive defensive back resume. The thing about Brooks is his team-oriented approach that coincides with his own personal desire to be the best. Deflecting praise and attention to others is a natural response for Brooks. Fluid in transition, can flip his hips and appears to have the speed to recover if caught off the ball. High character corner with toughness and instincts to fight for a roster spot in the National Football League.
