Personal
Born Sept. 4, 1996 … son of Ronnetta and Ron Davenport … multidisciplinary studies major.

Davenport was always tall. He played basketball, football and ran track growing up. UNLV was eyeing Davenport up to play basketball for the Runnin’ Rebels and New Mexico wanted him to play outside linebacker.

He played in 11 games during his freshman season for the Roadrunners and continued to grow his game each and every season. New Mexico had it right wanting Davenport to play OLB, because for most of his junior season, that is exactly how he rushed the passer.

Amazingly he is one of the nicest more quiet individuals that you’re going to come across who have the ability to terrorize quarterbacks. Davenport says once he hits the bags on Saturday and gets that first jolt the light switch flips and he becomes the aggressive hitter that has helped place him in the upper-echelon of 2018 NFL Draft prospects.

He can apply pressure with his hand in the dirt or standing up. Punishes the tackler. Exhibits the speed to reach and converge on the edge to shut the play down. The technique and tricks of the trade will be polished at the next level. History has shown he works tremendously hard that should help him while trying to master the craft of a top pass rusher in the NFL.
