The JUCO arrival from Southwestern has done a superb job of adapting the defensive system at North Alabama. Norris originally had interest from schools like Boise State and Washington State but academics at that time did not meet the requirements deemed worthy by the NCAA.

Norris has excellent size and ability (6-foot-1 220 pounds) for the safety position. With the NFL transferring to more hybrid type safeties who can serve an immediate need at linebacker as well it serves Norris skill set well.

His junior season with the Lions he shared time with two senior safeties but still managed to lead the team in tackles (67). It would not be a surprise to see his production nearly double with his increased amount of playing time for one of the top programs in the Gulf South Conference.
