Originally played tight end growing and was pretty fast. His favorite player was Jerry Rice but receiver was not the position he grew into. Evans started playing quarterback in 6th grade and the team won the National Championship in the state of Texas. He continued to develop into the position and ironically Tulsa was the only school that offered him a scholarship until Utah State offered him one on signing day (For Football & Baseball).

Evans sets his feet quickly and has a strong arm with accuracy. He feels comfortable making any throw on the field and has a quicker release due to his shorter release. Evans is a real competitor and leader who showed many times he can lead the team in the fourth quarter.

Evans ran an offense close to Baylor which sometimes gets criticized for its some what unorthodox scheme with receivers appearing to run aimlessly on their routes. He welcomes the opportunity to sit with NFL Scouts to show his football IQ and explain the depth in which the Tulsa offense ran but just at a very quick paced tempo. Scouts would be pleasantly surprised by his football IQ to hit the board.

Warrants a look into the later round and 17 NFL teams have requested his Pro Day film. A bit undersized but really encompasses the qualities of the quarterback position. A scrappy competitor with the charisma and intangibles to play at the next level.
