The Show To Know Before They Go Pro

c2p_smallicon – What do you hope scouts say when they are done watching your film and seeing you perform?
CL – He’s physical. He can tackle. He’s agreat player. He’s a ballhawk. He’s a play-maker. He’s a game changer and he flies to the ball and his game speed is ridiculous.

c2p_smallicon – What other offers did you have in high school besides Florida Atlantic?
CL – LSU was my first verbal offer. That was my dream school I was looking for, but other interested teams were Florida, Miami, Lousiville and Marshall. I didn’t even have an offer from Florida Atlantic at the time. Unfortunately I got in trouble in high school. I got expelled FIND OUT WHY

Cre’von LeBlack orginally was scheduled to play defensive back at LSU the factory for NFL secondaries. High school issues derailed his initial path towards the NFL, but at Florida Atlantic he flourished and finds himself preparing for the NFL Draft. Known as “The Kid” because he played as a true freshman at Florida Atlantic. For what is it worth a few other guys I liked at the East-West Shrine game over the last fews years remind me some of LeBlanc. Ironic, both play defense and both play for the Carolina Panthers. One is Josh Norman and the other Tre Boston. Each of those two players reminded my of LeBlanc in St. Petersburg in February. LeBlanc is physical and possesses the intangibles to make his mark and he is easily one of the first players I think were snubbed by not being invited to the NFL Scouting Combine.

LeBlanc showed good leaping ability and has the skill set to make plays on the ball. College tape shows he’ll support the run. Top end burst, acceleration and recovery speed in coverage. Reads the quarterbacks and shows nice zone awareness. May appear to some as overconfident with inflated opinion of his ability (I do not). Character will a little more scrutinized due to incident in high school. The bottom line is LeBlanc has enough natural talent to play in the NFL. Like both Norman and Boston they two have the skill set and a little baggage, but proved to be worth NFL caliber players. Hopefully the former Florida Atlantic defensive back keeps the trend going and allowing me to look like I know what I’m talking about.
