The Show To Know Before They Go Pro

c2p_smallicon – You have an enormous frame have you always had a size advantage?
BW – Height yes sir, weight no. I came in as a freshman 200 pounds, well actually under 200 at 195 listed as a tight end. Coming into fall camp I was 195 listed as a tight end, so I was like man I gotta do something so I gained about 20 pounds at Marshall and at EC I took off. Right now I’m like 260.

c2p_smallicon–  Since you arrived at D1 in Nashville has much weight have your added or lost?
BW – I have gained about seven pounds right around so I like to maintain like 260 or 265 and flirt with that a little bit. Just to see how I feel and be Gronk size or Jason Witten is kind of what I want to be.

c2p_smallicon – Have you always been the best athlete on the field.?
BW – I don’t want to boast or nothing but I have always been kind of fortunate enough to be one of the best players on the team.

c2p_smallicon – What is one of the more heartfelt or kind compliments you received from your coaches?
BW – Knowing when coaches tell me I’m a hard worker, because that is what I am. That’s the biggest thing that keeps me going.

He quickly reminded my of San Francisco 49ers second-round selection in the 2014 NFL Draft, tight end Vance McDonald, who also played in the Senior Bowl. It also appears that Williams is more agile than the former Rice tight end. Another player to compare Williams to is Baltimore Ravens 2014 third-round pick Crockett Gilmore, with very comparable frames and ability.

Williams is a huge target with surprisingly good speed and hands. Catches the ball and will catch it away from his frame of his body. For his size he showed good adjustment to the and has the size to be a effective red-zone target. A very willing and adequate blocker, he’ll win his match-ups. Set school record for power clean (352) for the tight end position. Blocks high at times and sometimes struggles to get low. One player in particular that I feel will emerge and climb the charts to become one of the top-tier tight ends in this 2016 NFL Draft class.
