Samuel lost his father as a young child and used Pee-Wee football and the position linebacker to unleash the frustration and anguish of his fathers passing. The gifted athletic ability he possessed now he had way back then but needed and outlet and passed on carrying the football. Eventually Samuel began to establish himself on the offensive side of the ball. He first started out at WR but asked his High School coach if the switch to running back would be possible After 1,400 yards and 23 touchdowns later he was named MAC Freshman of the Year with 844 rushing yards and five touchdowns.

Samuel has a solid build and is strong enough to pound it inside. Great forward lean and protects the ball. Keeps his shoulders squared and accelerates quickly and hits crease he has speed to go distance. Works his feet and drives through contact. Nice vision and run instincts to cut and possesses shifty side step ability. Solid hands. Zone-read NFL teams would welcome his skill set. Team leader was captain at both Bowling Green and Florida International. Family issues forced him to leave Bowling Green even though he had offers from Wisconsin he wanted to go somewhere and help build a tradition. His role at FIU was to split time but his ceiling exceeds that role at the next level. Mature and dedicated.
